VCL MANUFACTURING

Our significant investment in the latest CNC machine tools and equipment means our highly qualified, experienced work force can produce a wide range of quality products – whatever our customer’s requirements.

There are very few products, if any, on a surface or sub-sea wellhead that cannot be manufactured at one of our facilities. Look to us for turning, milling, and boring equipment; and all types of manual machining. We provide stellite hard facing, machined in an extensive grinding and lapping section. We also have a fully equipped inspection department – including manual and CNC, CMM. Machines thus ensuing greater accuracy in the measurement of critical components.

Our inspection and NDE personnel are fully qualified. And we are able to carry out our own in house U.T. inspection.

Our Malaysian base contributes several key elements to the production process. Each of these adds value for the customer. We have weld cladding and heat treatment capabilities, which use the endless torch rotation system, and an HVOF Carbide Coating facility.

Surface coating can be carried out by our in house partner (Armourcote) in a range of materials – copper plating, xylan coating, manganese phosphate, electroless nickel plating silver coating, and sub sea painting.

VALUE ENGINEERING

By applying Lean Principles to design, manufacture and procurement, we can deliver value that gives us and our customers the leading edge. This is achieved through close working relationships with our customers, applying techniques like value stream analysis, and producing in volume from value sourcing locations. We ensure that each production meets with VCL Cost Down Initiatives, and provides Best Value Sourcing.

Lean Principles is a term that describes a manufacturing system and philosophy which originated in Japan, and is now used throughout the world. The emphasis is on cutting out the waste in the manufacturing process. Waste is defined as anything that does not add value to the product. Improved speed of delivery is only one of the benefits of Lean. Through these principles VCL ensures that quality, and low costs are the driving forces behind our work.
